NYSATA Athletic Trainers:

From the Reimbursement Committee, I would like to continue to ask NYSATA members to write their congressmen in support of Medicare Access to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services Improvement Act, HR 1846. This legislation will allow Athletic Trainers to become approved providers with Medicare, which will improve the ability for ATC's to be reimbursed for their services.
Attached is a form letter for congressmen and a thank you letter to Rep Towns, who sponsored the bill.

The bill does two things:

  1. Essentially overturns the 2005 CMS therapy-incident to rule and makes it
consistent with the intent of how physical medicine and rehabilitation
services are intended to be provided in physician offices.
  2. Makes athletic trainers covered providers under Medicare.

What You Need to Do:

  1. Write letters to your lawmakers, asking them to support the Medicare
Access to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services Improvement
    Act (H.R. 1846).

Thank you very much.
