Joseph Abraham Award The award is given annually by the New York State high school that has provided outstanding athletic injury care to the student - athletes of their school. History of the Award Joe Abraham was a pioneer during his 40 years as an athletic trainer. Joe was one of the first professionals to recognize the need for quality athletic training programs at the high school level. During his career, Joe served his profession as NATA District Director, EATA Secretary-Treasurer for 17 years and played a strong role in NYSATA. He served as an athletic trainer at both the 1968 Mexico City Olympics and at the Lake Placid Games in 1968. As a result of his outstanding career, Joe was inducted into the NATA Hall of Fame in 1970. To nominate a high school
